Meetings

RERTR-2008 (Washington D.C., USA)
The U.S. Department of Energy / National Nuclear Security Administration’s Office of Global Threat Reduction hosted the “RERTR 2008 International Meeting on Reduced Enrichment for Research and Test Reactors” in cooperation with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The meeting was organized by Argonne National Laboratory and was held in Washington, D.C. USA from October 5-9, 2008. This was the 30th annual meeting in a series on the same general subject regarding the conversion of reactors within the Global Threat Reduction Initiative (GTRI). Conferences

2008 ANS National Student Conference @ Texas A&M University (College Station, Texas, USA)
Argonne participated in the annual American Nuclear Society National Student Conference. Conference attendees had several opportunities to meet and talk with us:

  • In conjunction with the Chemical Sciences and Engineering (CSE) and Mathematics and Computer Science (MCS) divisions of Argonne, NE organized and conducted a fast reactor workshop with the title "Global Nuclear Energy Partnership and the Role of Fast Reactors" on Feb. 28th. Several NE staff members made presentations at the workshop.
  • NE presented a career booth at the conference Career Fair.
  • NE's representatives were interviewed by Rod Adams of The Atomic Show, a podcast blog on nuclear energy issues.
